Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 1, 2026

1. Introduction

DataDyne Technologies ("we," "our," or "us") operates the PULSE platform (pulse.datadyne.dev), the PULSE Chrome extension, and the DataDyne website (www.datadyne.dev). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Passwords are securely hashed and never stored in plain text.

Shop Management Data

When you connect a data source (e.g., Shop-Ware, Tekmetric), we access and store repair order data, inventory information, staff details, and related business metrics to power your KPI dashboards. This data belongs to you and is only used to provide the PULSE service.

Chrome Extension Data

The PULSE Chrome extension stores your authentication token and display preferences locally on your device using Chrome's storage API. The extension communicates only with our API at backend.datadyne.dev to fetch your KPI data. No browsing history, web activity, or third-party website data is collected.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Display real-time KPI dashboards and performance metrics
  • Authenticate your identity and maintain your session
  • Sync data from your connected shop management systems
  • Send notifications and reports you have configured (SMS, Slack)
  • Improve and maintain the PULSE platform

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information or business data with third parties. Your data is only accessed by:

  • You and authorized users on your account
  • Our infrastructure providers (Azure cloud hosting) for the sole purpose of running the service
  • Shop management system APIs (Shop-Ware, Tekmetric) as authorized by you during data source connection

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
  • JWT-based authentication with token expiration
  • Bcrypt password hashing
  • Multi-tenant data isolation — each shop's data is strictly separated
  • Server-level firewalls and access controls

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and business data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription or request account deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days. You may request data export or deletion at any time by contacting us.

7. Cookies and Analytics

Our website uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand site traffic and improve our marketing. The PULSE application and Chrome extension do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.

8. Chrome Extension Permissions

The PULSE Chrome extension requests the following permissions:

  • sidePanel — to display KPI dashboards in Chrome's side panel
  • storage — to save your login token and preferences locally
  • host permission (backend.datadyne.dev) — to fetch your KPI data from our API

The extension does not access, read, or modify any web pages you visit.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal and business data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Disconnect data sources at any time from your PULSE dashboard
  • Uninstall the Chrome extension, which immediately removes all locally stored data

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of PULSE after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
